Starbucks’ newest fall beverage is here! The Starbucks Apple Crisp Macchiato just made its debut last week and this recipe is for their hot version, although Starbucks does have a chilled version as well. September is here though and to me that means hot and steamy beverages for fall.

What is an Apple Crisp Macchiato?

This hot Apple Crisp Macchiato tastes like warm apple pie in a mug, with your coffee or espresso mixed right in, with warm spices and brown sugar too. Now, I happen to make mine with almond milk, but go ahead and make yours with dairy milk if you choose. I also made one with oat milk. Any milk will work in this delightful macchiato.

Also, don’t get discouraged when you see that the milk is steamed or frothed in the recipe below. Here’s how to froth milk in the microwave in three easy steps:

  1. Pour milk into small or medium mason jar. Make sure you only fill half way. (You need the milk to have room to froth and puff up)
  2. Put the lid on the jar tightly and shake, shake, shake! (About 20 to 30 seconds should do.)
  3. TAKE OFF LID, don’t forget to do this step. Place opened jar in the microwave for 30 to 45 seconds. You have steamed frothy milk!
