Bronx Brewery Torch and Crown Opens a New Soho Brewery

Bronx beer favorite Torch and Crown opens its Soho brewery

Cult-favorite Bronx brewer Torch and Crown has forged ahead with opening its Manhattan brewery, the company’s first taproom where people can try its beer in person. The new bi-level brewery — located at 12 Vandam Street, at Avenue of the America, in Soho — includes an event space and tasting room, whose taps are connected directly to brewing tanks underground. The brewery’s popular stouts, lagers, and IPAs will now all be available for pick-up from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. from the new location and for delivery from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. to parts of Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.

Torch and Crown got its start in the Bronx more than a decade ago, after co-founders Joe Correia and John Dantzler had their fake IDs taken from them at an unnamed bar in the East Village. The pair has been making its popular beer from a production facility in the Bronx since 2017, but the Soho expansion is the company’s first brewery open to the public. Ahead of the novel coronavirus pandemic, Torch and Crown had planned to debut in Soho in March.
