Foxtail Coffee Co., an Orlando-based coffee shop, has opened at their newest coffee in downtown Eustis and the news has swept social media platforms. Despite opening during the pandemic, many locals have come out to see what all the fuss is about.
“We’ve had a steady flow of people ever since we opened two weeks ago,” said Caleb Pierce, a team leader from the Lee Road location. “I’ve been up here helping get it up and running and we are really happy with the turnout.”
Foxtail Coffee was founded two years ago by childhood friends Alex K. Tchekmeian and Iain Yeakle. Tchekmeian became a business specialist and Yeakle a coffee specialist. When the two connected years after graduating, the ideas began to fly and Foxtail Coffee was formed.
The company roasts in small batches locally in Winter Park and distributes them among their 14 shops in Central Florida.
Foxtail Coffee offers all the specialties for your daily java fix.
Their house specialty is their cold brew served regular or nitro infused. It is steeped for 16 hours and double filtered, which gives it a smooth taste and eliminates bitterness.
They offer their regular cold brew in 12-ounce bottles, $5 each or 6 for $25, half-gallon growlers for $19.99 and gallon growlers for $34.99. If you return the bottle, you get 20 percent off your next bottled purchase.
They also serve espressos, Americanos, cappuccinos, macchiatos, cafe lattes, doppios, cortados and cafe con leches, which according to Pierce, is one of the most popular drinks.
If coffee isn’t your thing, they also offer a variety of teas, chai tea lattes, matcha tea lattes and hot chocolate.
Drinks can be served hot or cold and offer a variety of add-ins like mocha, vanilla, caramel, hazelnut, honey, sugar-free vanilla, lavender bitters and orange bitters.
Dairy options include whole milk, skim milk, and half and half while non-dairy options include almond milk, coconut milk and oat milk.
Their specialty roasted coffee beans are sold in 12-ounce bags for $16 at the shop and include Mexico Oaxaca beans, Colombia Planadas, Farmhouse Blend, Colombia Decaf and Ethiopia Limu.
Currently the shop is asking that all persons wear a mask inside to order but can enjoy their outdoor seating in the heart of downtown Eustis. There are a few seats available inside as well.
Foxtail Coffee Co., 17 Magnolia Ave. in Eustis, is open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, visit www.foxtailcoffee.com.
