With a fire pit and a pot, saucepan or well, you can get a good cup of coffee.

If you don’t have an electric coffee maker, but you don’t have an Italian, French or Chemex coffee maker, you don’t have to panic. We will give you other options that experts recommend so that you can get away with it and enjoy your drink.
As long as you have fire to heat water, you can have one aromatic, hot and stimulating good cup of coffee. Although there are other emergency options such as the microwave; and if you don’t have where to heat, you can also prepare it cold (but it requires more waiting time).
In a pot, saucepan, or bowl

The chef Jimmy Bradley from Red Cat in New York teaches on Grub Street how makes coffee the old way, in the same way that his father does, who does not see the case for him to buy machines, filters or presses.
Pour water into a saucepan and turn on the fire. Use a little more water than you would normally use to make coffee, as some of it will be lost when boiling and steeping the coffee. When the water boils, add the coffee. Use the same amount that you would put in your coffee pot for the amount of boiled water and stir. Suggested measurements are 2 tablespoons of coffee for every 6 ounces of water. Turn off the heat and cover the saucepan. Let stand until all the grounds settle to the bottom; between four to five minutes. Now just carefully pour the coffee into cups and voila. The coffee grounds stay at the bottom of the pot, but if you have a ladle, it could make it easier for you to serve from one large pot to multiple cups.
Filtering with a cotton or linen cloth
It would be easier with a Chemex, but having a jar or cup, a cloth to use as a filter, clothespins and very hot water, you can improvise to get coffee.
Place the cloth on top of the jar or cup and press gently in the center to make a bowl to hold the coffee grounds. Secure the cloth in the container, you can use folder clips or clothespins, at least three so that it supports the weight and does not sink. Place the coffee grounds in the cloth bag. Pour a small amount of hot water over the coffee and wait 30 seconds for the grounds to soak completely. Slowly and carefully pour in the rest of the hot water, making sure the clips are secured. You can wait 4 minutes for the infusion. Remove the handkerchief and enjoy your coffee.
In tea bag made with a filter
If you don’t have a pot, but you have a microwave and a filter, there is an emergency option for your coffee.
Just like tea, you can prepare your coffee in a makeshift bag with a coffee filter. “Like the French during the 18th century,” says Roasty Coffe.
Measure out a single serving of coffee grounds and place it in the filter. Usually it is 2 tablespoons. Form a bag and tie it with string, leaving one end to hang outside of your cup, just like tea bags. Heat the water and slowly pour over the coffee bag into the cup where you placed your coffee bag, being careful not to overfill it. Let the coffee sit for at least four minutes. Remove the filter and enjoy.
Make cold coffee

To make cold coffee as opposed to iced coffee, you do not use hot water and cool afterwards.
Let rest the ground coffee beans (8 ounces) in 2 cups cold water in a jar with a lid for 12 hours in the refrigerator.
Filter the coffee with a mesh and you will have your concentrated. When you drink it, you must dilute it in equal parts with cold water and serve over ice. You can also prepare it with milk.
Store the coffee concentrate in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
