Bear and the Beard is a medium-roast blend created as part of a long-standing partnership
For the many people who can’t bear to get through their morning without a coffee, a new collaboration is offering the chance to get your caffeine fix while also supporting sick children.
Sydney coffee roasters Seven Miles has teamed up with Bear Cottage children’s hospice to launch a new coffee blend – Bear and the Beard.
For every kilo sold of this medium-roast blend – named after the partnership between the cottage (bear) and coffee baristas (often known for having beards) – $1 will go towards the New South Wales hospice, which is dedicated to caring for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Jenny Willits, the CEO of Seven Miles, said they were pleased to unveil this collaboration.
“Supporting our community is a core part of our identity and we’re proud to deliver on that promise through Bear and the Beard, offering not just exceptional coffee, but supporting those that bring joy and compassion to the most vulnerable members of our community,” Willits said.
Launching this month, this blend of coffees from Latin America and Indonesia is available online and at several cafes across NSW, the ACT and Queensland.
The collaboration builds on an existing 14-year relationship between the two Manly organisations.
Bear Cottage Nursing unit manager Narelle Martin said they were incredibly grateful to Seven Miles for their support of the hospice over the years.
“To have this opportunity to raise funds and awareness through the launch of their Bear and the Beard coffee range is really exciting,” Martin said.
“It is the generosity of the community that ensures that we are able to continue to provide this very special sanctuary for our children and families and we can’t thank Seven Miles enough for all they have done.”
