Product recalls for Tesco meats, coffee beans and pet food

Tesco and other retailers are urgently recalling a number of products.

There are a number of reasons why brands recall products and the reasons listed below include products possibly containing salmonella and food possibly containing Listeria monocytogenes and undeclared ingredients.

All of the companies have asked customers not to consume the products and instead to return them to their local store in order to obtain refunds.

Below is the list of products being recalled:

Tesco

Spicy Chorizo Slices

The FSA said: “Tesco has recalled its 16 Spicy Chorizo Slices 80g because the product contains Listeria monocytogenes.”The recall affects 80g packs of 16 Spicy Chorizo slices with a use by date of December 19, 2020.

Tesco said: “Tesco is recalling the above product. Product recall notices will be issued to explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. Please see attached notice.”

Happy Hounds Wales Ltd

Raw Dog Food products

The Food Standards Agency has said: “Happy Hounds Wales Ltd is taking the precautionary step of recalling a number of raw dog food products because they may contain salmonella.”

Happy Hounds Wales Ltd has told pet owners: “If you have bought any of the above products do not use them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund. When handling and serving raw pet food it is always advised to clean utensils and feeding bowls thoroughly after use. Consumers should wash hands thoroughly after handling raw pet food, bowls, utensils or after contact with the faeces of animals. Raw pet food should be stored separately from any food (especially ready to eat foods). Care should be taken when defrosting to avoid cross contamination of foods and surfaces.”

The FSA said: “Various roasted coffee beans covered in dark chocolate products have been recalled because they contain almonds (nuts) which are not mentioned on the label. This includes some products which contain roasted coffee beans covered in dark chocolate as an ingredient. This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds (nuts). This Allergy Alert has been updated as more product information has been added.”
