CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – What is one of the first things in the morning to help get your day started off right? You’re probably thinking about a good cup of coffee.
There is a nonprofit organization in Clarksville, Adult & Teen Challenge of Middle Tennessee, that offers their special Cozy Coffee, which they call “coffee for a cause.” It was first offered with the program in Memphis and is now available in Clarksville.
Adult & Teen Challenge is a long-term, faith-based drug and alcohol treatment program for adult men ages 18 and up. Sarah Hosford is one of the Campus Directors for the organization and said every cup that is brewed pours hope into another life and there is a story behind every cup of coffee.
Rob Frazier, Direct Care Staff and Cozy Liaison with Adult & Teen Challenge, talked about Cozy Coffee. “We source beans from Sumatra and Columbia, and they are roasted in-house by students in the program to the perfect flavor, profile, and consistency,” said Frazier.
Frazier added that they take Cozy Coffee and provide it retail to individuals, or wholesale to churches, civic organizations, and businesses and the best part is all of the proceeds from the coffee operation goes back into the Adult &Teen Challenge program which helps them to help others.
The coffee beans come to the organization green and trained students with the program roast the beans, grind them, package them, and the organization also offers delivery of the coffee.
Cozy Coffee, in either Columbian or Sumatran flavors, comes in 12-ounce bags and 5-pound bags along with pricing for bulk or wholesale orders.
