“This Juice Box Sour is fruity deliciousness, that is reminiscent of your favorite childhood drink, with an adult twist. It’ll leave you saying OH YEAH!”

Resignations and an investigation: Killingly school board’s troubling year

Harlequin Citra-Saurus: 8.3% Double New England Double IPA.

“This wacky, over the top version of the classic Citra-Saurus features not 1, not 2, but 3 dry hop additions to really cram in all the Citra goodness that the hops have to offer. This beer features a smooth bitterness in unison with subtle grapefruit, citrus, and peach flavors all packed into a perfectly hazy New England DIPA.”

All Juiced Up: 7% New England IPA.

“This juicy N.E. IPA has all the ingredients you need to get pumped up. This power hopped beer is packed full of all your favorite hops, Galaxy, Amarillo, Simcoe, and Mosaic.”

Black Pond Brews

1001 Hartford Pike, Dayville CT

Pink is the New Black: 5.9% New England IPA.

“New England IPA w/ Pomegranate.”

Moving the Goalposts: Milkshake IPA w/ Pineapple.

“Hoppy and sweet, brewed with lactose & vanilla.”

Slater Rulez: 8.5% Double New England IPA.

“Brewed with Nelson Sauvin and Strata.”

Black Pond Brews is located at 1001 Hartford Pike in Dayville.

Epicure Brewing

40 Franklin St., Norwich CT

Ickaweizen: 5.1% Hefeweizen.

German-style hefeweizen offers a striking beer experience thanks to the use of distinctive wheat and rye malt, unique yeast and uncharacteristic appearance. This beer was named after our of our beer-tenders, Erica aka “Icka” as her niece would call her. We all have that Aunt or Uncle that has a special name since we couldn’t pronounce their real name.

Day in the Life: Emergency births, heart attacks and stuffed bears: A day with Norwich’s “Happy Medic”

Lightning Struck Twice: 5.2% Oatmeal Stout.

A full-bodied stout that receives its sweetness from the oatmeal used during the mash. Hints of coffee, although none was added. Malty beer with no hop profile. In August 2016, owners Kerrie and Ken Thiffeault, and their daughter, lost their home to a fire resulting from a lightning strike. This was the second time that lightning had struck their home, hence the name or this beer. They hope to be in their new home in late 2017.”

Epicure Brewing is located at 40 Franklin St. in Norwich.

Fox Farm Brewery

62 Music Vale Road, Salem CT

Tiddly: 3.8% Mild – Dark.

“English-style pub ales are a unique joy – simple but flavorful, memorable or perfectly forgettable depending on the mood. Tiddly is our take on a Dark Mild, a style we think hits at that dichotomy particularly well – you could certainly savor them but they’re small beers we find are best enjoyed a couple at a time and without much fuss.”

Little Brook: 4.6% Blonde Ale.

“Small but mighty. Hopped with Citra and Amarillo.”

Fox Farm Brewery is located at 62 Music Vale Road in Salem.

These Guys Brewing Company

78 Franklin St., Norwich CT

These Guys Make Me Blush: 4.2% Sour – Fruited.

Tox Brewing Company

635 Broad St., New London CT

Digitox: 8.5% Double IPA.

“Digitox is a scaled up, hoptimally saturated Double IPA version of our beloved Foxglove. Ramping up the New Zealand and American hop combination that is near and dear to our hearts is not a project we took lightly. True to Foxglove’s straw yellow color and pillowy mouthfeel, Digitox exudes big flavors of white wine grape, ripe melon, grapefruit, and berries.”

Emotional Support Kraken (OLBC Collab): 5.5% Sour.

“We got together with our friends from Outer Light to brew a special sour to celebrate our shared Anniversary weekend. The goal was an over the top Blue Raspberry Marshmallow sour. We brewed a wheat heavy kettle sour base and loaded it up, with Blueberry, Raspberry, Marshmallow, and a variety of blue raspberry flavorings. It is sour and sweet, and has big candy flavors of Jolly Ranchers, Lollipops, and Blue Sour Patch Kids with a subtle marshmallow finish. “

Roy’s Pools: Owner of Roy’s Pools racks up more charges in sprawling Eastern CT larceny investigation

Toxiversary Three: 12% Imperial Stout.

“Three years of beer! What says Birthday better than cake?!?!?! We decided to theme this years celebration beer like Chocolate Coconut Cake. We brewed a big thick imperial stout with no added sweetness, just natural unfermentables and double mash variables, finished with a long boil. What didn’t go into a freshly dumped Knob Creek barrel found its way on top of freshly toasted coconut, cacao nibs, Tahitian vanilla beans, and birthday cake! Thick and silky smooth with a touch of natural sweetness, an aroma that screams coconut and chocolate, with matching flavors to follow. A lingering note of cake batter is rounded out with a pleasant vanilla swirl. Drink Fresh, this beer won’t get better with cellar time. Happy birthday to us!”

Tox Brewing Company is located at 635 Broad St. in New London.
