Indonesia Pavilion promotes 3 Indonesian coffee varieties in London

The presence of the Indonesia Pavilion at the LCF is expected to introduce the diversity of Indonesian coffee to the European community, especially in the UK

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Embassy in London participated in the London Coffee Festival (LCF) 2021 by launching the Indonesia Pavilion to promote Nusantara coffee in the UK.

 

The Indonesia Pavilion showcased coffee products made by three micro, small, and medium enterprises from different regions, the Indonesian Embassy in London said in a statement on Saturday.

 

The MSMEs were Java Frinsa Estate from West Java (Frinsa Honey Sacharic coffee), Radjea Coffee from Jambi (Kerinci Arabica coffee), and KAA Sapan Berjaya from Toraja (Sapan-Toraja Arabica coffee).

 

“The presence of the Indonesia Pavilion at the LCF is expected to introduce the diversity of Indonesian coffee to the European community, especially in the UK,” the Indonesian Ambassador to the UK and Ireland, Desra Percaya, remarked.

The coffee exhibition is also expected to encourage Indonesia coffee exports to the UK in the long term, he said.

 

The promotion has come during the reopening period of various industrial sectors, meetings, and conferences in the UK post COVID-19 restrictions, he added.

 

Therefore, the Indonesian Embassy used the tagline “London is open again, Indonesian coffee is back” at the festival, which was held from September 23 to 26, 2021 on Brick Lane, London, he continued.

Each of Nusantara’s signature coffees exhibited at the festival has a special taste, Percaya said.

 

Frinsa Honey Sacharic has a sweet and flowery note, while Kerinci Arabica has hints of spice and fruit, and Sapan Toraja Arabica has a herbal fragrance with a chocolate-like flavor, he added.

 

LCF is the largest coffee exhibition in Europe and this year, it was joined by about 250 exhibitors and attended by 20 thousand visitors from many circles, such as importers, wholesalers, café owners, and coffee lovers, he informed.

At least one thousand visitors visited the Indonesian Pavilion during the four days of the exhibition, he said.

 

According to Ambassador Percaya, the promotion of Indonesian coffee needs to be pushed amid the rapid development in the global coffee industry.

 

He deemed LCF as the right event to bolster Indonesian coffee because the British people had waited for the event for nearly two years.

 

The Indonesian Embassy in London will follow up on potential buyers who came to the Indonesia Pavilion, he added.
