Pella Regional Health Center’s Auxiliary is celebrating 60 years of service to the hospital.
Maryann Hutchinson with the Auxiliary says the group was formed on October, 30, 1960, by eight women who set up the organization to “render service to the hospital and patients.”
Over the years, she says the Auxiliary has grown to include men and women dedicated to supporting Pella Regional through gifts of time and raising funds.
Today, the Auxiliary is still serving the hospital and clinics in a variety of ways:
Volunteering at the Information Desk, Family Birthing Center, Koffietijd Kar (Coffee Cart), Information Desk, and Gifts on Jefferson
Organizing several fundraisers to purchase equipment that falls outside of the hospital’s and clinics’ budget
Administrating the Mary Evers Scholarship each year for students interested in nursing
Sewing colorful pillow cases for pediatric patients
Creating baby cocoons, caps and bibs for newborns
“The support of the Auxiliary means so much to Pella Regional,” said Bob Kroese, Chief Executive Officer at Pella Regional. “The hours that volunteers spend providing compassionate service at the hospital are phenomenal. When we combine that service with the financial donations for scholarships and equipment, I am overwhelmed by the generosity and caring of the Auxiliary.
Pella Regional would like to thank all the current and past Auxiliary members for everything they have done the past 60 years to support the hospital. For more information on Pella Regional Health Center’s Auxiliary, visit: www.pellahealth.org/about-us/volunteer/auxiliary/
