“Coffee can also help give you the energy to reach your physical activity goals,” says Christa Brown, RDN, New Jersey-based private practice dietitian. “Coffee, in general, has been linked to a reduced risk of developing type 2 diabetes and a lower risk of depression.”

This latte is also made with oat milk, making it perfect for people who are lactose sensitive or intolerant. Each can has 80 milligrams of caffeine, which is equivalent to about a cup of coffee. This option is ideal if you’re looking for a lighter dose of caffeine.

Using coffee beans from Peru that have been cold-brewed, the formula is marketed as 70 percent less acidic than other conventional brews.

This bottled coffee is also infused with MCT oil, which contains fats that are thought to be used as a quick source of fuel, per the Cleveland Clinic. “One bottle of this coffee has 200 milligrams of caffeine — the same amount you’d get from about two cups of coffee,” Pimentel says.

When you’re buying a canned or bottled coffee drink, there are a few things to consider that will help you figure out which one’s best for you.
Canned and bottled coffee drinks have between 65 and 220 milligrams of caffeine, while a regular cup of coffee has roughly 70 to 140 milligrams of caffeine.
If you’re sensitive to caffeine, Pimentel recommends checking the product label and staying away from high doses of caffeine (usually between two and three espresso shots). Consider options with less caffeine, or drink half the bottle or can instead.
Most bottled and canned coffee drinks have between 50 and 70 calories. But if you don’t want to drink your calories, there are other options, such as Boss Coffee’s Cold Black (10 calories) and Trader Joe’s Cold Brew Coffee (zero calories).
Just as well, check the ingredients list of your canned and bottled coffee products. Some may have ingredients you’re looking to avoid, like milk. Others may have ingredients that add nutrients you want to have more of, such as protein and healthy fats.
Added sugars are something to keep an eye out for. “You want to look for less than 5 percent under the Daily Value (DV) column on the back of the label as a guide,” Brown says.
“It is recommended that adults don’t take in more than 10 percent of their total calories from sugar. So if you’re eating 2,000 calories per day, that’s a limit of 200 calories from added sugars.”
She also mentions that organic pure cane sugar is still considered an added sugar. Eating too much sugar can increase the risk of heart disease, cause tooth decay and trigger inflammation, per the Mayo Clinic.
If you still like your java on the sweet side, go for ready-to-drink coffees that are sweetened with natural, zero-calorie sweeteners such as monk fruit or stevia.
